Now that the day is almost over, I’ll reflect. Today, I’m 30! When I entered my last year of my 20’s my goal was to “have my sh*t together” as my 30th birthday approached I thought “define sh*t together?” - honestly, what does that even mean? Does that mean that I have a luxurious house? Ample money? A perfect marriage? A fancy car? Does it mean to be in the best mental health possible with endless opportunities? Because if that’s what it means, I guess I’m not there. I’m just a normal person, striving for a unreachable perfection. What I can say is that everyday I’m extremely grateful that I get to live this life. I get to do what I love to do, I get to mother a kick a$$ kid, and I get to start a new day everyday & set new goals. Also, I’m pumped to enter a new decade even if I started my 30th birthday like it was my first day in my 20’s. A absolute mess. Nothing went as planned, I didn’t even drink a cup of coffee today. So here’s to tomorrow, and my second day in my 30’s. May the rest of the year be filled with so much more joy, more coffee, and being a accomplished 30 year old. Let’s be real though, I’m just of a mess that I was last year. . . Signed, your imperfect photographer.
Happy Friday! I actually have a weekend off & to think.. I ALMOST booked a event for tomorrow. I didn’t though, and that’s no mistake because the Lord knew I needed my birthday weekend off before my crazy few months start. After this weekend I’m booked every weekend until the second weekend of November & that certainly won’t last long. Happy Friday guys! I thought I would throw my face up since I finally have a decent photo of myself. Thank you @katiaforerophotography for taking these for me 🖤 I’ve been trying to cultivate a sense of community for years in this photography industry. I started my business in North Carolina as a young, hardly even adult wife. Then my business transitioned many times through different phases of life. Motherhood, moving, divorce, ext. the industry when I started out was cut throat, it was isolating and competitive. It still is both of those things but now there is a sense of peace surrounding it. . . . . For me, photography has been my way of speaking. Though, when you do it as a career, it’s easy to loose sight of that and get stuck in a routine of “shoot, edit, share” which is why it’s important to me to create a community of creatives/photographers who want to meet up for coffee. Plus, I really enjoy coffee. Preferably, Locally brewed coffee, housed in quaint little coffee shops. . . . . If you’re in the Austin area, what’s your favorite local coffee shop?

Working on Jack’s 1 year session and I HAD to throw this up here. His little hands and legs were BLACK because he refused to stay still for this spot. Basically, I was running around trying to hop in front of him while dad picked him up every 5 minutes and put him back on the blanket.
